# 0x27 - push! attendees - will, micro, lippe, puck, alex, alex, cel ## agenda ### open hardware summary - last weekend was [OSHWA](https://2023.oshwa.org/) conference - highly recommend the ["Ergonomic Bootcamp" talk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5HbJJLWTiw&pp=ygUPb3Nod2EgZXJnb25vbWlj) for everyone - [dinalab](https://www.dinalab.net/) people were there and gave a [follow-up talk at Biotech Without Borders](https://events.nixnet.services/events/4b3fc98c-02c4-4a75-91ee-0ea4cce8dbb1) that was inspiring in many ways ### flood report [documentation/pictures](https://basement.woodbine.nyc/leak_documentation#) nothing broke, once we have floor plan we can mark where water comes in, and will help us keep important or large things away from the leaks most water came from clacks in the floor, some from the walls. only took 5 minutes to clean up. propose having a policy of making sure nothing sensitive/no cords are laying on the floor. doesn't seem to be a big deal. ### air report [asbestos running notes](https://basement.woodbine.nyc/s/asbestosgeddon#) micro has not called any labs yet lippe called some labs - some people wouldn't even talk to us. "wont accept samples from anyone who isn't state certified". At 2pm today, I called some place that was cheap and chill. they have on-site PCM (TEM they send out to a 3rd party) testing for $6.50 per sample did we ever do airflow measuring i.e does anyone have an anonmeter? potentially llama. ### class planning people are excited about classes in general * josh: vape -> flashlight upcycling class * simon: teach people to build microphones * ???: build your own 3d printer * lippe: how to use the wayback machine + search engine literacy. was looking at resistor's classes - 3d design for 3d printing. tons of classes that can be done upstairs. low prices available. we can have much more mundane and community useful classes we should learn how to teach nontech class before heavy tech let's figure out how we can self-organize tech augmented crafts? how can i avoid ordering 20,000 parts from a die-cutting company? can someone teach that class? gonna experiment with printing embossing paints to crease watercolor paper. using 3d printing as a component of the class. "tools to make your tools?" what classes would **you** want to see? ### announcements - lippe added stuff to the wishlist - lippe upgraded tubing solution for soldering station ### social updates alex - running home servers, community servers alex: finished teaching first class at resistor - cutting board class to 4 students. was a LOT of preparation and work. I am now more available for shop stuff at woodbine. alex: the ambition of that class was "everyone leaves with something they made" alex: i've been pitching smaller ideas. what do people think of more information stuff. like maybe how to find broken street furniture and fix it. those are ideas in my head right now. lippe: ive been interested in just getting a warehouse. we can lead a workshop on just basic stuff. i know someone who built a shit ton of stuff for their apartment using just futon slats, since they are always thrown out - its a reasonable quanitity of stock material and used them as like the base for their designs. ## lets bring back hack saturdays will - can spend time saturday with embossing stuff, class workshopping, paper stuff, wanna make a mini fishing net with mycellium and hair. micro - ill be there on saturday puck - bio spaces might be great connection, also thinking about sustainability
