### FOIA Talk

- Amateur Radio is the name of a research group.
- Jason is doing a talk on the freedom of information act at Woodbine; this talk doesn't having anything specifically to do with amateur radio, but there are things related to things like Flipper.

- Sunday, August 27th, 5pm.
- Could we make a poster?
- Join the #class-planning group on Element if you want to stay tuned in or contribute in some way.

### Pen Plotter Updates

- New paper for plotting acquired.
- There are difference in the Y and X microsteps on Ooza. 
- lp, llama and micro trying to level Ooza.
- Planning to do a mesh of the spoil board; could even get a pressure sensor that we could use to tell the mainboard how much pressure to apply. 
- Could be great to do a video or a workflow on the wiki, so people can use it.
- The script currently rejects an .svg with a size that is out of bounds. Would be cool to have a little computer that someone could just drop an .svg on there.
- There is an Axi-draw in the space! it has a dedicated Pi; you could go to the plotter.local:9080 to upload an .svg. Check out the documentation on the wiki! Let's do an .svg jam!
- Ooza is a big ass plotter. Cool beans. There's more to be done! Rotating tool head for changing pen color? The Super PID exists. Can we run the regulator and solenoid? Down for making goop and ooze, even before the extruder works.
- Class on sustainable materials?
- Brandon helped us understand how to fix the lead screw, if it buckles. How can we share such knowledge? (Add to documentation? Throw a long video on the wiki?) In short, we can learn to debug this thing!

### Encroachment

- No that the basement looks nicer, Matt want to start renting out the space. If we can make a more substantial financial contribution, then perhaps we can avoid this kind of encroachment on the basement are by "renters." 
- Even if we don't do some kind of token or status, maybe we need to start thinking about some kind of way to encourage people to contrbute more.  
- When the rent was negotiated, the basement was added on for $500.00 extra. That was offset by the art and wood shop rentals.
- Let's set goals. Maybe we can get $500.00 a month into Woodbine.
- Basement people are co-workers, sooo aren't we contributing then?
- Matt is presenting a financial report sometime in August. So, maybe we should prepare for that . Do we know how much the gym pays per month? 10k went into it. That help attract people. Maybe we could make some kind of value proposition?  Can we articulate how we contribute to the mission? 

### Next Cloud

- Next Cloud can have public chats! 
- Do we want an IG or email? We could use the Next Cloud here: just give the people a link to the public Next Cloud. 
- Next Cloud has video chat and lots of other goodies. 
- How do we play with it?
- Maybe next week we could try to run the remote video meeting on Next Cloud?
- We're never gonna get a hostable thing that has everything. ARG! We could pay people build stuff out for us. 
- It would be cool to have a reception desk, so this chat thing seems fun.
- Element could maybe have a "guest" setting?
- Right now, peoople can self-register for chat.woodbine. Or, we can invite poeple to Signal. Next Cloud chat is a zero friction thing. 
- Micro says he will make an IG.

- llama is doing coffee tasting on saturday.

- Josh has COVID. It is misserable. He was eating chicken wings. He was feeling better today. Was it the new office? He was surrounded.
- Myf went on a bike trip. It was gnar. There was a camel and zebra. It was a Zionist camel. 
- Feels like we have pushed through an episode, and the clearing has opened : )
