# Meeting 66 ## Attendees Local - lp(absent) jessi micro llama omni5cience Remote - puck alexw cel ### [What are you up to? (60s)](https://basement.woodbine.nyc/experiments#making-meetings-less-painful-shorter) ## Agenda ### [Announcements (No discussion. Post-meeting breakout possible)](https://basement.woodbine.nyc/experiments#Currently-Running) - ### Inside business #### mushroom day report - was sweet - good job jason - got 50 people to comedown to the basement - a lot of younger people - a few of the joined hello world signal - saw immediately downside of hello world - people likes the 3d printed oyster mushroom - did well on social media - q: was mushroom printed out of mushroom - lions mane: shalom japan has it - thought dump: what do we think of the mushroom day - here's what we can do better - we dont have material prepared - info sheet people can read - we have two pieces of material: sheet on the door, will's brochure - handouts: do we want them? - some people might have the drive - when event happens, go up stairs and bring people downstairs is great - (event was on saturday, which was our open hours) - lack of material is the weak spot - we should ask around for people to write about us - lp: thoughts: - pair of calipers missing - this might be an impossible task - they could show basement and some people can come and do stuff #### "membership" - authority - knowledge - "docents" - people in museum who takes people around - what does it mean by member: - show up and have experiences - #### floor painting - been here for a week - weathered - it's close to what it should look like now - we painted blue, green, golden mushroom - we should go to the next step - (if we paint it all green we have a lot of chroma(gota lot of tone to it)) - area between cynderblock on boiler and the first column is very uneven - probably wants to paint that place dark green - we can paint that chill part green #### security - if anyone has locks bring them - think about security during mushroom #### ooza progress - preparing for mushroom with only half an ass - puck and llama looked to see if we could ooze anything - on saturday morning we oozed - but it was a bit runny - we have a pressure regulator for the big syringe, but did not respond to the gcode command to regulate pressure - it was just on and off - later talked to bea, said these boards are trash and maybe never worked to begin with - we placed an order for another board to replace 2 of the non-working regulators, and these should be simpler. its on the way. - since the board doesn't work, can we still ooze things while setting the compressor to low pressure. nope - other compressor settings made this impossible. Compressor wants to be between 125-100 psi. The compressor will only compress once after dropping below the threshold. our conclusion is the compressor is kinda busted so we should try the red one. - in the end, i call this a win because we actually started to debug these issues we didn't know we have for a year and a half - micro is making an emergency stop button for ooza right now (there are 2 - one soft stop with the controller, one hard stop with power). - will has suggested a particular mixture from the recipes that is easier to try out - there are three pdfs on the ooza page that have articles on making different recipe resources - LP - at some point we probably need viscosity testing - unsure what the pressure and viscosity needed. you can use a ball drop + timing to measure viscosity. We have to do a different method because we don't have consistent movement. Theres a few options on how to do this - one method is using a piston to push into the material, theres another option with sticks and mixers. - puck - i dont think will and his folks did anything besides 'we got this one material and printed fairly simple shapes with it'. depends what we are trying to do. first step is 2 layered square with simplest material. - llama - we can stick to one formula and then make changes and see whats going on - LP - in an ideal world we can do a by volume/by weight mixture. I hope its not very sensitive between small differences. #### coffee progress - we have more toys - we might have another bullet coffee roaster. we printed this 4" air splitter to run 2 at a time - we have 60kg of coffee - working roaster arriving tomorrow - one roaster burned out, but these bullets are working well #### airgradient - micro and puck upgraded the firmware, the data is forwarded to their backend. we have api access to it. their stuff rolls over really fast. - sam - i'm out of the loop. - puck - they show 48 hours and then reset completely. we can put our own firmware on it. i know there are 5 computers in the space, but what server? - LP - whats the work to get that data? if we just dump the data... - llama - i can do that, just give me the key. i can figure out what to do. - micro - alex said he can setup a mongodb - puck - vocs were high on monday #### mice - we have mice here. if you see or hear one, share it. been finding food in the trash. - THROW FOOD OUT UPSTAIRS - monday night and thursday night are pickup for garbage #### hello world check in - two people joined our hello world signal group - at least 3 joined on sunday - at least 3 tried to join but no signal - big problem: when you join it's empty you cannot see other people - do i reintroduce myself or not? - we have a place where people dont need an account - friday post: we are going to do an event the next day - ours is a day time hack where as all other hacker spaces are night times - ask micro if you want to get involved with chat groups - people can ask on saturday before they come
