Rory's class Thursday
we're having some new school students visiting woodbine on thursday around noon to check out the space and present their project.
from Rory:
"The class is called Radical Software (https://classes.codeatlang.com/radical-software/2024-fall/) [...] The 14 students are interested in learning more about your tech space – some live in the area and are potentially interested in getting involved – and sharing some presentations about our collaborative final project which is a kind of peer-to-peer, mutual aid / community platform for the New School campus."
- rory lived near wb for a long time, never got involved
- went to school with will
- cs background, more software than hardware
- nycmesh install on roof
- 3rd time teaching radical software- history of politics, activism and software. exploring what "Hacking" is
- students did a browser extension, then a keystroke injection attack using (usb rubber ducky)[https://docs.hak5.org/hak5-usb-rubber-ducky/ducky-script-basics/keystroke-injection] exploring how they could use keystroke injection attacks for good.
- students developed a "virtual quad" for the new school campus.
- maybe we can recruit some students to get involed with stuff in wb

Woodbine MOU (Memorium of Understanding) for Basement crew
we're being asked to fill out a generic form for all groups which
- explains our relationship to woodbine
- defines "which parts of the space" we want access to and during which hours
- enumerates what we want to store at WB and where
- asks groups to come up with a maintenance task they can carry out
- requests a list of "core coordinators and bottom-liners" and others who "absolutely would need key access for group functionality" who should have key access granted, along with their names, phone numbers, emails and signatures.
- solicits financial contributions
"a regrouping effort" because it's not clear who everybody is
ventilation & air quality assessment
- llama smells sourness and it corresponds with a tvoc reading (?)
- jroast: pot the gym fan on a timer
